Mr. Moats received his undergraduate degree from Denison University in 1966 and his law degree from The Ohio State University in 1969. Following law school, Mr. Moats was a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Mr. Moats practices in the commercial, general business and not-for-profit organization areas.

He is a member of the American, Ohio State, and Columbus Bar Associations and is a member of the Business Law, Nonprofit Law and Real Property Committees of the Columbus Bar Association. He is also a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of The American Arbitration Association. Mr. Moats speaks frequently on various business law topics and Ohio not-for-profit organization law.
